Most recently, our Weather Investigations unit allowed students to experience working with the engineering process in order to create machines that can measure either the speed or direction (or both!) of wind. The class worked in teams to plan, create, test, and evaluate their machines.
Just last week, we also had our first Author Share during which Ms. Arena's and Ms. Arthur's students, along with some specialists and administrators, came in and read our narratives! Students received compliments on their writing from our guests and complimented others' narratives as well. It was a success!
Fifth graders at Bridge School are being trained on how to use the new Google Chrome Books that are exclusive to the fifth grade! Our class has done a great job following directions on how to set up their accounts, start a new Google doc, share a doc, and more! Ms. Tenhor has come into our class for 2 trainings now and we can't wait to learn more about using Google docs to enhance our writing workshops!
Our class has also enjoyed a second activity with our kindergarten buddy class just today! We set out on a nature scavenger hunt, collecting items such as seeds, pine cones, and smooth and fuzzy objects. The fifth graders are such great role models and helpers to our buddies in Mrs. Schwager/Ms. Day's classroom. The smiles were contagious!
